  President of China Acrobats Association visited Cirque de Chine

 

Mr. Lin Jian, Executive President of FISM WCM2009, Beijing and the President of the China Acrobats Association was in Sevierville recently to visit with Mr. Lizhi Zhao at the Smoky Mountain Palace and view the Cirque de Chine performance.
The China Acrobats Association was founded in 1981, and is a nationwide professional organization composed of acrobatic associations and artists. Altogether it has 29 associations and approximately 2.300 individual members from all parts of China.
His association is the number one acrobatic association is China and serves as a bridge between the different troupes and the Chinese Government. The association is in charge of acrobatic competitions and awards and has principles and guidelines for the different troupes to follow.
The association serves acrobats, comedians, magicians and even circus animals. Magicians and acrobats are both under one umbrella and the Chinese division of FISM is part of this package.
Mr. Lin Jian's background is not that of an acrobat or magician but as a teacher He was an education major in college. While in college he began working for the Culture Department and became quite good at his job. Through his experience he learned how to manage acrobats without being an acrobat.
Time has proven him correct as he was the Director of the Chinese National Troupe for 13 years. That is the number one troupe in China and the troupe that is performing at the Smoky Mountain Palace.
At the present time. Mr. Lin Jian is concentrating on FISM WCM2009, Beijing.FISM is an abbreviation of Federation lnternationale des Socits Magiques. To Phrase that in English, it translates to International Federation of Magic Societies. The organization was founded in 1948. It's an International body which brings together the world's leading magic societies. The Federation to-day consists of over 80 clubs, both national and international, as well as national Federations which represent nearly 50,000 Magicians from 41 countries. Every three years FISM holds an international competition. In Stockholm, in 2006, he applied for the competition to be held in Beijing in 2009, and was awarded that honor.
